Wireless Grifco Keypad E850G

The Wireless Grifco Keypad E850G opens a Grifco door or gate with a PIN instead of a remote or a key, and it holds five permanent codes and ten temporary ones. Grifco equipment mostly lives on commercial and strata sites, and that is where those two numbers earn their keep.

About the Wireless Grifco Keypad E850G

On a site with staff, cleaners, waste contractors and trades coming through, remotes are the thing that never comes back. Somebody leaves and the remote leaves with them, and the honest fix at that point is to clear the receiver and reissue to everybody, which is a morning's work and a round of phone calls. A code costs nothing to issue and nothing to withdraw. Five permanent slots cover the people who are on site every day and ten temporary ones cover everyone else.

It suits the Grifco 2.0 drives, being the E-Drive, the S-Drive, the LS-Drive and the LR-Drive, and it codes alongside the E960G, E945G and E943G remotes. It spans 433.3 MHz, 433.92 MHz and 434.54 MHz.

One limitation to be plain about: it controls a single opener. One gate or one door, not a bank of them. A site needing several doors from one entry point is a different conversation and worth having before anything is mounted.

The keys are backlit when pressed, which is not a small thing at a loading dock at five in the morning or in a basement car park with one working light. It is rated IP55 and specified from minus 20 up to 60 degrees Celsius, which puts an unshaded western wall through a Sydney February comfortably inside its range. Each activation generates its own code.

Supplied with it are the 9V lithium cell, two keys and the instructions. A 9V is a rectangular block, not a coin cell. The lithium chemistry is a deliberate choice on an outdoor unit, because it copes with cold far better than an alkaline of the same size.

Allgate's commercial and strata technicians are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1300 655 600, and access control on a shared site is worth a conversation before the unit goes on the wall rather than afterwards. Domestic customers can reach us Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm on 1300 736 683.

A keypad on a shared site is only ever as good as the record of who holds which code. Decide before it is mounted where that record lives and whose job it is to keep it, because the usual failure of keypad access on a strata property is administrative rather than electrical.

Battery safety

This product is supplied with a 9V lithium battery, which is not a coin battery. Keep new and used batteries out of reach of children, and dispose of used batteries safely. A flat battery can still cause harm.

Delivery, returns and fitting

Shipping costs and delivery times are shown beside the Add to cart button above. Unused parts can be returned by post within 30 days of purchase for a full refund, with return postage paid by you. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply on top of that, so if the part you receive turns out not to suit your opener, call us before you program it and we will work out what does. Our full terms of sale are set out on the Allgate terms and conditions page.

Most customers fit and code a new part themselves in a few minutes using the instructions supplied. If you would rather have it done, an Allgate technician can program and test it on site anywhere we work, which is every suburb listed on the Sydney service areas page.

Not sure the Wireless Grifco Keypad E850G is the right part?

Buying the wrong remote is the most common mistake we see, and it is almost always avoidable with one photograph. Send a clear shot of the front and the back of your existing unit, plus one of the motor if you can reach it safely, to service@allgate.com.au and our team will tell you exactly which part suits your opener. If you would rather talk it through, our domestic line is 1300 736 683, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm. Commercial and strata customers can reach a technician on 1300 655 600 at any hour, on any day.

You can also search the catalogue by the model number printed on your existing handset, which is the fastest way to find the match yourself.
