Merlin publishes it as a two door remote, and that is the single most useful thing to know before ordering, because most of the Merlin range on this shop runs four channels and a household that assumed this one did too will find out after it is coded in. If you have a garage door, a second garage door and a gate, this is not the handset. If you have a door and a gate, or just the one door, it is.

What you get for that is the smallest case in the Merlin range. It measures 2.69 cm across, 7.6 cm long and 1.12 cm deep, which is narrower than a car key and thin enough that it does not turn a pocket into a bulge or stop a key ring sitting flat. The check before ordering is the front of your existing remote. Merlin printed Merlin+ 2.0 on the equipment of this generation. If yours does not say that, this handset will not speak to your motor no matter how many times it is coded.

It shares a receiver with the E943, E945 and E950M.

Transmission is AM with a rolling code. A CR2032 arrives fitted under a cover that needs a tool, and a key ring comes with it.

Two channels is a decision, not a shortcoming, and it is worth making deliberately. Decide now which two openings matter, because the day you add a third you will be buying a different remote rather than reprogramming this one.
