About the Merlin+ 2.0 E945/E945M Genuine Remote
The name is worth explaining because it is what people search for and nobody sells it under that name. The case is short and rounded with the buttons set into a scooped face, so it sits in a closed hand the way a claw does rather than lying flat like a slim key ring remote. It measures 3.68 cm across, 6.02 cm long and 1.28 cm deep. It is the shortest handset in the Merlin range and the one most likely to survive a year in a coat pocket.
Three channels means three openings, so a garage door and a gate with one spare, or two doors and a gate. That is a different trade from the slim two door remotes on one side and the four button units on the other, and for most houses three is the number that actually gets used.
The check to make before ordering is printed on the front of your existing remote. It must read Merlin+ 2.0. It is worth being firm about this one, because the older Merlin+ C945 is the same shell in the same colours with the same dimensions, and the two cannot be told apart by looking at them. Read the label rather than matching the photograph.
It suits the CR625EVO, CR655MYQ, CS60EVO and CS100EVO, the MJ3800MYQ, MS65MYQ, MS105MYQ, MS125MYQ and MT110MYQ, the MR550EVO, MR650EVO, MR655EVO, MR655MYQ, MR850EVO, MR855EVO, MR855MYQ and MRC950EVO, the MT50EVO, MT60EVO, MT100EVO, MT120EVOPS and MT3850EVO, and the Steel-Line ST50EVOB, ST50EVOB1 and ST50EVOC. It codes alongside the E943, E945 and E950M handsets.
Transmission is AM with rolling code, so a new code goes out on every press. A CR2032 comes fitted and the cover over it needs a tool.
A small warning that applies to this shape more than any other. A short rounded case with no lanyard hole is the easiest remote in the range to put down on a workbench and lose. If it is going to live anywhere other than a vehicle, give it a hook by the door on the day it arrives.
