Grifco's handsets code as one family. The E943G, the E945G and the E960G all speak to the same drives and sit in a receiver together, so a property running two older handsets and one new one carries on exactly as it did. Adding an E960G does not mean clearing the receiver and recoding everything else.

The physical difference is real and worth knowing so the two can be told apart later. The case on this listing is published at 3.68 cm across, 6.02 cm long and 1.28 cm deep, which is short and comparatively broad. The E960G that arrives is published at 3.14 cm across, 7.35 cm long and 1.18 cm deep, which is longer, narrower and thinner. The E960G listing names the four Grifco drives and a receiver, then covers the rest in words rather than model by model.

Here is where we will be plainer than either listing manages. The E960G we supply does code to Merlin openers of this generation as well as to the Grifco drives, and that is a check we have made rather than a conclusion we drew from a table. It does not code to the Chamberlain badged CR and CS units, so if the name on your motor housing reads Chamberlain, this is the wrong page and a call to 1300 655 600 will save you a return. The Steel-Line ST50EVOB and ST50EVOC appear on this listing as well and have not been through the same check, so ring on those rather than assuming either way.

A CR2032 comes fitted under a cover that needs a tool, coding instructions are supplied with it, and third party AS62368.1 testing is published against it.

If more than one handset is being bought, buy them all against the current name rather than the older one.
