Genuine Code Ezy Remote to suit ATA PTX-4

The Genuine Code Ezy Remote to suit ATA PTX-4 is an aftermarket handset for the SecuraCode generation of ATA openers. The person who needs it is replacing a PTX-4, the handset that came with the door when a SecuraLift or an EasyRoller was installed, and who wants a working remote rather than a matching one.

About the Genuine Code Ezy Remote to suit ATA PTX-4

There is a question this listing raises that no supplier page answers, so it is dealt with here rather than left sitting. Allgate stocks two Code Ezy branded handsets for the PTX-4 at two different prices. The other one is called the Code Ezy ATA PTX-4 Compatible Remote and it is one click away. Both are aftermarket, both are badged Code Ezy, and both publish the same fifteen openers and the same exclusion. Anybody comparing them on the motor list alone will find nothing to choose between.

What does separate them is small and it is worth knowing. This listing publishes a 23A 12V cell where the other publishes a 27A, which are both cylindrical twelve volt cells of slightly different diameter. This listing publishes what is in the box, being the battery already fitted and a key ring. The other publishes no case measurements at all, where several of its siblings do. That is the whole of the published difference between two handsets that will operate the same door. If price is what decides it for you, buy the cheaper one and nothing is lost. If you would rather have the listing that tells you what arrives in the parcel, that is this one.

The openers named here are the CRX-1 and CRX-2 receivers, the GDO-2v5, GDO-2v6 and GDO-2v7 SecuraLift units, the GDO-4v3, GDO-4v4, GDO-4v5 and GDO-4v6 EasyRoller range, the GDO-6v1 and GDO-6v2 slim drive EasyRoller pair, the GDO-7v1 SecuraLift, the GDO-8v1 and GDO-8v2 EasyRoller II units and the GDO-9v1 SecuraLift.

One exclusion is published and it is absolute: this handset does not stand in for a PTX5. The two look similar in the hand and they are two different radios, and the divide between them is set out at length on the Code Ezy ATA PTX-4 Compatible Remote listing rather than repeated here.

Four openings, a rolling code and a 433 MHz transmitter is the whole specification, which means a garage door, a gate and a second door can share one case. A 23A 12V cell is already in it when it arrives. Getting at that cell later calls for a small screwdriver, because the cover is retained rather than clipped, and a key ring ships with the handset.

Two brands appear on this listing and only one of them made it. It is not manufactured, authorised, endorsed or approved by Automatic Technology Australia.

Before you order either of the two Code Ezy listings, take one photograph of the back of the old PTX-4 and one of the compliance plate on the motor head. Sent to us on either of those photographs, the question of which listing you want stops being a judgement call and becomes a thirty second answer on 1300 736 683.

Battery safety

This product is supplied with a 23A 12V battery, which is not a coin battery. Keep new and used batteries out of reach of children, and dispose of used batteries safely. A flat battery can still cause harm.

Delivery, returns and fitting

Shipping costs and delivery times are shown beside the Add to cart button above. Unused parts can be returned by post within 30 days of purchase for a full refund, with return postage paid by you. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply on top of that, so if the part you receive turns out not to suit your opener, call us before you program it and we will work out what does. Our full terms of sale are set out on the Allgate terms and conditions page.

Most customers fit and code a new part themselves in a few minutes using the instructions supplied. If you would rather have it done, an Allgate technician can program and test it on site anywhere we work, which is every suburb listed on the Sydney service areas page.
