About the Code Ezy B&D Compatible Remote
That sheet earns its place because of how a rolling code remote has to be set up, and this is the part most often misunderstood. A rolling code handset cannot be copied from another handset. Elsewhere in our range there are duplicator remotes that learn by being held nose to nose with a working one for a few seconds, and it is a fair assumption that everything works that way. This one does not. It has to be taught to the opener instead, which means reaching the motor head, putting it into learn mode and pressing the new remote while the receiver is listening.
There is an upside hidden in that. If every remote you own has gone missing, a duplicator is no use to you at all and this one still is, because the only thing that has to cooperate is the motor.
Rolling code is also the reason the arrangement is worth having. A fresh code goes out on every press, drawn from a pool running past one hundred billion, so a transmission captured at the kerb is already spent by the time anybody tries to use it. The fixed code generation before this one could be recorded and replayed, which is precisely why B&D moved on.
Which brings up the check to make before ordering, and it needs a screwdriver and two minutes. Open the back of the handset you are replacing. A row of seven to twelve tiny switches inside means fixed code, an older motor and a different part altogether. The same goes if the case is marked 27 MHz or if it is dark navy, and the 062150 is a near twin that is not covered despite the resemblance.
Assuming none of those apply, it suits the Controll-A-Door 4, 5, R, P and Shed Master units, the FAM4, FAM5, FAM P, FAM R and FAM RDO range, EL4, EL5, EL R and the Easylifter, FIRMAMATIC SDO and FIRMAMATIC RDO, the RDO-1V1 Diamond Power Drive, the RDO-2V1EL Econolift, the HE60BD, the 059215 receiver, and the 059116, 059120, 062162, 062170, 062200 and 062402 handsets.
It runs four openings, measures 3.0 cm across, 5.5 cm long and 1.2 cm deep, and takes a 27A 12V cell, supplied in place, under a cover that needs a tool.
Code Ezy is a brand in its own right with no connection to B&D. This remote is not manufactured, authorised, endorsed or approved by B&D.
When the coding sheet has done its job, do not bin it. Tape it inside the meter box or photograph it. The sequence for putting a B&D head into learn mode is not something anybody recalls three years later when a second handset gets added, and that scrap of paper is worth a service call.

This product is supplied with a 27A 12V battery, which is not a coin battery. Keep new and used batteries out of reach of children, and dispose of used batteries safely. A flat battery can still cause harm.
