Every listing in this range carries the same short exclusion, that it is not compatible with PTX5 remotes, and this is the page that explains it properly, because getting it wrong is the most common way to buy the wrong ATA remote.

ATA's 433 MHz equipment falls into two generations. The earlier one is SecuraCode, and that is what this handset and everything else on this page belongs to. The later one is TrioCode. A PTX-4 is a SecuraCode remote. A PTX-5 is not. They look like relatives, they share a frequency, and they do not talk to each other in either direction.

The quickest test is the remote you already use every day. If it is a PTX5, stop here: your opener is on the later system and you want the ATA PTX-5v1 Compatible Remote or one of its siblings. If your remote is a PTX-4, a TX model or you are working from the motor rather than the handset, check the motor against this list instead: the CRX-1 and CRX-2 receivers, the GDO-2v5 to GDO-2v7 SecuraLift, the GDO-4v3 to GDO-4v6 EasyRoller, the GDO-6v1 and GDO-6v2 Slim Drive EasyRoller, the GDO-7v1 SecuraLift, the GDO-8v1 and GDO-8v2 EasyRoller II, and the GDO-9v1 SecuraLift. An older motor can sometimes be brought onto the later system with a receiver card, and if that interests you it is a conversation worth having before you buy a handset for the system you are leaving.

This handset runs four independently coded doors, uses rolling code on 433 MHz, and takes a 27A 12V cylindrical cell which is fitted before dispatch. The compartment opens with a tool.
