About the B&D Tritran Genuine KPX-7v2 Wireless Keypad
The B&D compatibility list is long and worth reading properly. On the remote side it covers the 62730, 62733 and 70241, the BD2 and BD4, the CAD615 and CAD616, and the TB2, TB4, TB5 and TB6. On the motor side it covers the RDO-1V3 Roll-A-Pro and the RDO-1V4 PD, the SDO-4V1 PanelPro, the SDO-1V2 P Controll-A-Door, the SDO-2V2 ADV and SDO-2V2 PD, the SDO-2V3 Prodigy, the SDO-3V2 and SDO-3V2 WE Controll-A-Door S, the Secure SDO-6 and the Smart SDO-7, and the Controll-A-Door P Diamond including the Whisper Quiet version. It is for B&D Tri-Tran openers only.
Look at the remote models in that list and the argument for a keypad makes itself. The TB2, TB4, TB5 and TB6 are all superseded handsets, so replacing a lost one now means buying a current model against a legacy part number. A household running three of them is carrying three increasingly expensive things to lose. A keypad is one unit, mounted in one place, that nobody has to remember to pick up on the way out.
It also covers the access a remote cannot. Somebody who needs to get in on a Tuesday and has no reason to hold a house key. Children who arrive before their parents. A visitor staying a fortnight. You issue a number and you change the number when you want to, with nothing to collect back afterwards.
The keypad is wireless and talks to the opener on Tri-Tran 433 MHz, so there is no cable to run and it can be mounted where it is genuinely useful rather than where the wiring happened to finish. The coding is rolling, so a new code is generated each time a PIN is entered and the signal cannot be captured and replayed.
Power is a 9V battery, supplied and fitted, behind a cover that needs a tool. That is the rectangular block type rather than a coin cell, and it is the easiest battery in this catalogue to buy at short notice. Take the old one to a recycling point.
Four channels means a garage door, a second door and a gate can run from the one pad, provided each of them is on the Tri-Tran system.
One line in the compatibility list deserves a second read. The Controll-A-Door Diamond Power Drive is covered in its RDO-1V3 form only. If your Power Drive is a later version, this keypad is not the answer for it, and that is exactly the sort of detail worth settling before a hole goes into a brick wall.

Battery safety
This product is supplied with a 9V battery, which is not a coin battery. Keep new and used batteries out of reach of children, and dispose of used batteries safely. A flat battery can still cause harm.
