About the B&D TB6 Genuine Remote (supplied as TB-7v1)
This is the page to read if you want to know how the B&D numbering works, because the numbering is the whole story of this group. B&D replaced six older handsets with two current ones. Part 100511 is the black TB-7v1 and part 100510 is the red one. Between them they take over from the black TB6 at 62872, the red TB6 at 62871, the TB5v2 at 62874, the TB5v1 at 62731, the 062730 and the 70241. Six names, two parts, one radio.
Very little on the remote itself will tell you it is a TB6. The model name is not always on the case at all, so the identification that counts is the number printed on the back rather than the name you have been using in conversation. If it reads 62872 you are on the correct listing.
What arrives is a black case with four black buttons, which is what the TB6 looked like as well. Of the seven swaps in this group it is the one where nothing visible changes.
The motors it codes into are the Tri-Tran generation: the Roll-A-Pro RDO-1V3 and the RDO-1V4 PD on roller doors, and on sectional doors the PanelPro SDO-4V1, the Prodigy SDO-2V3, the Controll-A-Door S in both its SDO-3V2 CADS and SDO-3V2 WE forms, the SDO-2V2 ADV and SDO-2V2 PD, the SDO-1 V2 P, the Secure SDO-6, the Smart SDO-7 and the PanelMax SDO-8.
Adding this handset to a motor does not disturb the transmitters already coded into it. The receiver holds several at once, so the other household remotes, a keypad and a wall unit all carry on working. That matters when only one remote has failed and nobody else in the house wants their routine interrupted.
A CR2032 cell is fitted before it leaves us, behind a cover that needs a screwdriver.
There is a quiet benefit in six names collapsing into two parts. If one car carries a TB5v2 and the other a TB6, both can now be replaced by the same current handset, and you only have to remember one thing the next time either of them goes missing.
