On the sectional side it covers the SDO-1 V2 P, the SDO-2V2 ADV and the SDO-2V2 PD, the SDO-2V3 Prodigy, the SDO-3V2 CADS Controll-A-Door S and the SDO-3V2 WE version of it, the SDO-4V1 PanelPro, the SDO-6 Secure, the SDO-7 Smart and the SDO-8 PanelMax. As a remote it stands in for the TB5v2 and the TB6.

Tri-Tran is the part worth understanding, because it explains why an unbranded 433 MHz handset bought on price will sit in your hand doing nothing. B&D describes these transmitters as moving between three separate frequencies during a single press, changing roughly every 22 milliseconds, with each channel occupying a narrower slice of the band than an ordinary fixed frequency remote uses. When another transmitter in the street is sitting across part of that band, the press still lands on one of the other two channels. A remote with only one frequency has no second chance, which is why cheap generic handsets tend to fail intermittently on B&D doors rather than failing honestly on the first attempt.

The coding is rolling. Every press sends a different code and the receiver will not accept the same one twice, so a signal captured in your driveway is worth nothing to whoever captured it. Four buttons hold four separate codes, and there is no requirement to use all of them. Plenty of households put the garage on one button and keep the rest for a gate or a second opener added later.

A CR2032 arrives fitted. The cover is held by a screw rather than a clip, so keep a small screwdriver wherever you keep the spare cells.

Two companions code into the same receivers. The B&D WTB-8v1 Genuine Wall Remote does the same job from a wall inside the garage, and the B&D Tritran Genuine KPX-7v2 Wireless Keypad opens the door on a PIN with nothing to carry at all. Four model names, one procedure, one receiver. That is the manufacturer saying plainly that the name printed on your old remote matters far less than the motor it was talking to.
