About the ATA PTX-6V1 Genuine Grey Remote

This page carries the answer to the question people ask most often about ATA remotes, which is what to do when the motor is older than the remote range.

ATA has run three incompatible radio systems over the years. The oldest was 27 MHz, using the TX handsets. Then came SecuraCode on 433 MHz. TrioCode, which is what this remote speaks, is the current one. A TrioCode handset will not open a SecuraCode or a 27 MHz motor, and no amount of programming changes that, because the two are not speaking the same language.

What the supplier publishes, and it is the useful part, is that those older motors can be brought forward with a TrioCode receiver card fitted to the motor. The card gives an older opener a TrioCode receiver, after which a handset like this one codes to it normally. That is a real path rather than a fob off, and it is usually cheaper and considerably less disruptive than replacing a motor that is otherwise working perfectly well.

It is not a job to attempt from a listing page, though. Which card suits depends on the motor and it has to go inside the head. Ring our domestic line on 1300 736 683 Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm and describe the motor, or send a photograph of the label, and we will tell you whether a card is the answer for yours.

Sorted by code, the openers it suits are the DCB-05, the GDO-6, GDO-6v3 and GDO-6v4, the GDO-7v2 and GDO-7v3, the GDO-8v3 ASM, the GDO-9, GDO-9v2, GDO-9v2S2 and GDO-9v3, the GDO-10v1, the GDO-11v1, GDO-11v3 and GDO-12, the ATS-2, the NES-24v1, the RD-20V1 and the SGO-1. In marketing names those are the EasyRoller, SecuraLift, Shed Master, Dynamo, Enduro, Dominator, Toro, Tempo, NeoSlider and Elite units.

It measures 3.87 cm across, 7.46 cm long and 1.27 cm deep. A CR2032 is supplied fitted and the cover needs a tool.

A grey remote and a black remote in the same house are easier to keep straight than two of the same colour, and the two shells cost the same. If you are buying a second handset and you already have the black one, buying grey costs nothing and saves an argument.

Delivery, returns and fitting

Shipping costs and delivery times are shown beside the Add to cart button above. Unused parts can be returned by post within 30 days of purchase for a full refund, with return postage paid by you. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply on top of that, so if the part you receive turns out not to suit your opener, call us before you program it and we will work out what does. Our full terms of sale are set out on the Allgate terms and conditions page.

Most customers fit and code a new part themselves in a few minutes using the instructions supplied. If you would rather have it done, an Allgate technician can program and test it on site anywhere we work, which is every suburb listed on the Sydney service areas page.

Not sure the ATA PTX-6V1 Genuine Grey Remote is the right part?

Buying the wrong remote is the most common mistake we see, and it is almost always avoidable with one photograph. Send a clear shot of the front and the back of your existing unit, plus one of the motor if you can reach it safely, to service@allgate.com.au and our team will tell you exactly which part suits your opener. If you would rather talk it through, our domestic line is 1300 736 683, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm. Commercial and strata customers can reach a technician on 1300 655 600 at any hour, on any day.

You can also search the catalogue by the model number printed on your existing handset, which is the fastest way to find the match yourself.
