About the ATA PTX-6V1 Genuine Black Remote

The thing worth understanding about this handset, and about every genuine ATA remote, is how it is programmed. ATA calls it learn to receiver. You put the motor into a learning state, press a button on the new remote, and the motor stores it. The remote learns nothing from your old handset and needs nothing from it.

That sounds like a technicality and it is the opposite. Several of the cheaper aftermarket remotes on this shop are duplicators, which copy a code out of a remote you already own and are therefore useless to anybody whose only remote has been lost or broken. This one does not care. If every remote in the house has gone missing, a genuine PTX-6V1 and a few minutes at the motor puts you back in business. That is the case for paying more for a genuine handset, and it is the only case that really matters.

It measures 3.87 cm across, 7.46 cm long and 1.27 cm deep, with a red indicator light and a CR2032 under a cover that needs a tool. The code rolls on every press.

One thing that catches people out. It will not suit a blue case PTX-4 on 433 MHz, and it is not the remote for an ATA motor still running older SecuraCode or 27 MHz TX equipment. If your existing handset is blue, stop here and ring us before ordering.
