The ATA PTX-2v2 Genuine Remote is the two button key ring transmitter from ATA's TrioCode range, in a grey see through case with waterproof buttons. About the ATA PTX-2v2 Genuine Remote

Two buttons means two doors, or a door and a gate, from one transmitter on your keys. Households that have been carrying a separate remote for the garage and another for the driveway gate can usually replace both with this one unit, provided both motors are on the TrioCode system.

The buttons are waterproof, which matters more than it sounds on a remote designed to live on a key ring. Keys go through pockets in the rain, get dropped on wet driveways and end up on the floor of a boat or a work vehicle. The see through shell is not decoration either, since it lets you see the board and the battery without opening the case.

Its compatibility list is the longest of any ATA handheld we stock. It covers the RD-20V1 and RD-40V1, the Elite SGO-1, the NeoSlider NES-24v1 and the DCB-05 Dual Gate Controller, the EasyRoller in GDO-6, GDO-6v3 and GDO-6v4 form, both SecuraLift versions of the GDO-7, the Shed Master GDO-8v3 ASM, the GDO-9 as Dynamo and Enduro, the GDO-9v2S2, the GDO-9v2 and the GDO-9v3, the Toro GDO-10v1, and the GDO-11v1 and GDO-11v3.

Two things rule it out. The blue case PTX-4 running on 433 MHz sits outside this family despite the shared frequency, and so does any ATA motor old enough to still be on SecuraCode or on the 27 MHz TX system. Those older motors can be brought across with a TrioCode receiver card, and until that card is fitted this remote has nothing to talk to.

Programming is a learn to receiver process. You put the motor into learn mode and press the button on the remote, and the receiver stores it. The coding is rolling rather than fixed, so the transmitted code changes every time and cannot be captured and replayed. A red LED on the front confirms the remote has transmitted, which is the quickest way to tell a flat battery from a fault in the opener.

Power comes from a CR2032 3V coin cell, already in place when it reaches you, behind a cover that needs a tool to lift. Swallowing a coin cell causes severe internal burns within hours, so keep both new and flat cells well away from small children and take used ones to a battery recycling point.

Most people code this remote themselves in under a minute. Where an opener is mounted somewhere awkward, an Allgate technician can do it on site, and our service vehicles carry remotes, receivers, motors and control boards, so a fault found on the day can usually be dealt with on the day.

If you are consolidating two remotes into one, check that both motors are on this system before ordering. A household with one TrioCode opener and one older SecuraCode opener will still need two transmitters until the older motor is brought across.

Delivery, returns and fitting

Shipping costs and delivery times are shown beside the Add to cart button above. Unused parts can be returned by post within 30 days of purchase for a full refund, with return postage paid by you. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply on top of that, so if the part you receive turns out not to suit your opener, call us before you program it and we will work out what does. Our full terms of sale are set out on the Allgate terms and conditions page.

Most customers fit and code a new part themselves in a few minutes using the instructions supplied. If you would rather have it done, an Allgate technician can program and test it on site anywhere we work, which is every suburb listed on the Sydney service areas page.

Not sure the ATA PTX-2v2 Genuine Remote is the right part?

Buying the wrong remote is the most common mistake we see, and it is almost always avoidable with one photograph. Send a clear shot of the front and the back of your existing unit, plus one of the motor if you can reach it safely, to service@allgate.com.au and our team will tell you exactly which part suits your opener. If you would rather talk it through, our domestic line is 1300 736 683, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm. Commercial and strata customers can reach a technician on 1300 655 600 at any hour, on any day.

You can also search the catalogue by the model number printed on your existing handset, which is the fastest way to find the match yourself.
