ATA KPX-5 Genuine Keypad
The ATA KPX-5 Genuine Keypad is a wireless outdoor keypad that opens your garage door or gate with a PIN instead of a remote, and it is the model for ATA's earlier SecuraCode generation of openers. If your opener is a later TrioCode unit, the keypad you want is the ATA KPX-7v2 Genuine Keypad instead. The two look similar and cost the same, so this is the one detail worth getting right before you order.

About the ATA KPX-5 Genuine Keypad
Check your motor against this list. The KPX-5 suits the CRX-1 and CRX-2 receivers, the GDO-2v5, GDO-2v6 and GDO-2v7 SecuraLift, the GDO-4v3, GDO-4v4, GDO-4v5 and GDO-4v6 EasyRoller, the GDO-6v1 and GDO-6v2 Slim Drive EasyRoller, the GDO-7v1 SecuraLift, the GDO-8v1 and GDO-8v2 EasyRoller II, and the GDO-9v1 SecuraLift. It is not compatible with PTX5 remotes, and that is the quickest test of all: if the handheld remote you use every day is a PTX5, your opener is on the newer system and this keypad is not the one.
A keypad earns its place the first time somebody needs to get in without a remote. Children home from school before their parents, a cleaner or a tradesperson who needs access on a Tuesday but not a key to the house, a runner or a cyclist who would rather not carry keys, and anyone who has ever locked themselves out with the car keys inside. You give out a code instead of cutting a key, and you can change the code whenever you want to.
It mounts on a wall, a post or a door frame and needs no wiring back to the motor, because it talks to the opener on 433 MHz just as a remote does. Two screws are supplied. It has a cream case, clear buttons and a green indicator light, with a cover that lifts to reveal the keypad. Closed it measures roughly 6.84 cm wide, 12.87 cm long and 2.7 cm deep, extending to about 23.8 cm long with the cover raised. Mount it where the cover is not sitting in the weather all day and it will last considerably longer.
Power is a 9V battery, supplied and fitted. A 9V is the rectangular block type, not a coin cell. The compartment needs a tool to open. Since the keypad lives outside, a battery that is getting low usually shows itself as the door responding intermittently before it stops responding at all, so a keypad that has become unreliable is worth a fresh battery before anything else.
Coding is a learn to receiver process. The motor goes into learn mode, you enter your chosen PIN, and the receiver stores it. Instructions are in the box and it takes a few minutes.
Allgate installs and programs keypads throughout Sydney. Mounting one is the sort of job worth handing over when the location means drilling into brick or render, or when the opener sits somewhere awkward to reach for the learn mode step.
If you are not certain which generation your opener belongs to, ring 1300 736 683 and read us the model number printed on the motor. It takes a moment, and it is the difference between a keypad that works and one that goes back in its box.

Battery safety
This product is supplied with a 9V battery, which is not a coin battery. Keep new and used batteries out of reach of children, and dispose of used batteries safely. A flat battery can still cause harm.
Delivery, returns and fitting
Shipping costs and delivery times are shown beside the Add to cart button above. Unused parts can be returned by post within 30 days of purchase for a full refund, with return postage paid by you. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply on top of that, so if the part you receive turns out not to suit your opener, call us before you program it and we will work out what does. Our full terms of sale are set out on the Allgate terms and conditions page.
Most customers fit and code a new part themselves in a few minutes using the instructions supplied. If you would rather have it done, an Allgate technician can program and test it on site anywhere we work, which is every suburb listed on the Sydney service areas page.
Not sure the ATA KPX-5 Genuine Keypad is the right part?
Buying the wrong remote is the most common mistake we see, and it is almost always avoidable with one photograph. Send a clear shot of the front and the back of your existing unit, plus one of the motor if you can reach it safely, to service@allgate.com.au and our team will tell you exactly which part suits your opener. If you would rather talk it through, our domestic line is 1300 736 683, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm. Commercial and strata customers can reach a technician on 1300 655 600 at any hour, on any day.
You can also search the catalogue by the model number printed on your existing handset, which is the fastest way to find the match yourself.
