ATA EAT2 v2 Genuine Remote

The ATA EAT2 v2 Genuine Remote is the red transmitter that hangs from the manual release cord inside your garage, so the cord you pull to put the door into manual mode and the button you press to open it are the same object. EAT stands for Easy Access Transmitter, and it is fitted to ATA roller door openers of the TrioCode generation. Allgate stocks the genuine ATA part with the battery already fitted.

About the ATA EAT2 v2 Genuine Remote

It is a single button unit on a cord roughly 105 cm long, in a red case with a red button, measuring about 4.2 cm square and 3.4 cm deep. It hangs at head height rather than living in a car, which is what makes it the remote people actually use most: the one you press on the way past with an armful of shopping, or when you are on foot and the car remote is inside the house.

That also explains why this is a part Allgate sells regularly. A remote that hangs in a garage and gets pressed several times a day wears out faster than one clipped to a visor. Cracked cases, a button that needs a firm push, and cords that have been pulled hard enough to strain the housing are all normal after some years of use.

It suits ATA openers running TrioCode on 433 MHz. Start with the EasyRoller pair it is most often found hanging from, the GDO-6v3 and GDO-6v4, then the GDO-7v2 and GDO-7v3 SecuraLift, the GDO-8v3 Shed Master, the GDO-9 Dynamo, the GDO-9v2 in SecuraLift and Enduro form, the GDO-9v3 as both Dominator and Dynamo, the Toro GDO-10v1, the GDO-11v1, the NeoSlider NES-24v1, the DCB-05 Dual Gate Controller and the Elite SGO-1.

It will not suit two things. It is not compatible with the blue case PTX-4 on 433 MHz, and it is not compatible with older ATA motors still running SecuraCode on 433 MHz or the 27 MHz TX remotes, unless a TrioCode receiver card has been fitted to bring the motor onto this system. If your opener is from that earlier era, an Allgate technician can tell you whether a receiver card or a different transmitter is the better answer. Call 1300 736 683 and describe what is written on the motor.

Coding is done by putting the receiver into learn mode and pressing the button, which takes seconds and is covered by the instructions in the box. The code itself is rolling, so a new one is generated on every press and a device that captures the signal cannot replay it to open your door later.

One practical note that follows from the specification. This model has no indicator light. On a remote with an LED, a dim or dead light is the first sign of a flat battery, so on this one the first sign is usually the door not responding from the usual distance. The battery is a CR2032 3V coin cell and the compartment needs a tool rather than a fingernail. Keep spare and used cells well out of reach of children and take them to a battery recycling point.

Allgate services ATA roller door openers throughout Sydney, and a worn cord transmitter is often the visible end of a motor that is due for a look anyway.

If the manual release cord itself is frayed, or the door is heavy to lift once released, both are worth looking at while a technician is on site, because each of them points at the door rather than the transmitter.

Delivery, returns and fitting

Shipping costs and delivery times are shown beside the Add to cart button above. Unused parts can be returned by post within 30 days of purchase for a full refund, with return postage paid by you. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply on top of that, so if the part you receive turns out not to suit your opener, call us before you program it and we will work out what does. Our full terms of sale are set out on the Allgate terms and conditions page.

Most customers fit and code a new part themselves in a few minutes using the instructions supplied. If you would rather have it done, an Allgate technician can program and test it on site anywhere we work, which is every suburb listed on the Sydney service areas page.

Not sure the ATA EAT2 v2 Genuine Remote is the right part?

Buying the wrong remote is the most common mistake we see, and it is almost always avoidable with one photograph. Send a clear shot of the front and the back of your existing unit, plus one of the motor if you can reach it safely, to service@allgate.com.au and our team will tell you exactly which part suits your opener. If you would rather talk it through, our domestic line is 1300 736 683, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm. Commercial and strata customers can reach a technician on 1300 655 600 at any hour, on any day.

You can also search the catalogue by the model number printed on your existing handset, which is the fastest way to find the match yourself.
